Here’s hoping lots of the people, who were invited by postcard, who saw flyers various places or whose children brought home flyers from their schools, will show up tomorrow. It’ll be fun with the meet and greet, the sheriff reading the new book, the raffles and the refreshments. I’ll just say a few words to thank the people, who made the launch possible, and those who have supported my writing career with encouraging words and/or buying my books.

Right now emails are zinging back and forth between Michigan and Arizona. We are planning a Book Launch Open House in Sierra Vista to introduce The Cochise County Cat: A True Arizona Tale to the people of Arizona. If all goes as hoped, the open house will be held at the Cochise College Library Commons on October 29, 2016.

As we ate lunch today, the rain and wind gusts started. It looked as if it were raining leaves. Next the hail started, kept up for a while, quit then started again. Finally the power went out. Eight hours later it’s still out.

Last Friday my husband and I were walking along the lovely path in Bellaire when we discovered a brand new map, which shows that the path much longer that we knew. We came upon several piles of disturbed dirt. A bicyclist told us they were nests of buried eggs, he had seen a snapping turtle leave.

Sunday we took that path again and every nest had been dug up and the eggs emptied. I thought of foxes or dogs. Several people told me raccoons love eggs. Some animal(s) must have had a feast.

Recently I was a visiting author at a school in Mesa.
A second-grade boy raised his hand. “Does it hurt you when the editor wants to change what you wrote?”
I asked, “Do you mean, does it hurt my feelings?”
He said, “Yes.”
I thought fast and said, “No, it doesn’t because I want the book to be the very best it can be, so I welcome suggestions.”

Even though I have never had a bikini body, the shift from hot to cold weather dawned on me in these terms.
