During the Highland Festival in Alma, Michigan, Suzanne Malpass Rogers will be signing her books at the College Corner, 328 W. Superior from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, May 27, 2017.

Writing children’s books has become Rogers’ very unexpected retirement career. She writes a series of true animal stories with happy endings under her maiden name, Suzanne M. Malpass. Each book is illustrated by Trish Morgan, a wonderful Charlevoix watercolor artist. Books are available on Rogers’ website straddlebooks.com, in many stores in Michigan and Arizona, as well as on mascotbooks.com, barnesandnoble.com and amazon.com. The One-Week-Old Fawn: A True Story is soon to be released.

The books are:

Stony’s Tale: A True Tombstone Story (sold out)

Rusty Tries Growing Up: A True Eastern Shore Story

A Lab’s Tale (takes place in East Jordan)

Colorado, the Flying Horse: A True Arizona Story

Where’s Our Siamese: A True Story (takes place in Charlevoix)

Bonita Finds a Forever Home: A True Story

The Cochise County Cat: A True Arizona Tale

The One-Week-Old Fawn is at the publisher’s. I’m just waiting to receive the electronic proof after I requested some changes. Next step will be when the editor puts the proof into the print queue. Good time to practice patience (at which I’m not particularly good). For enjoyment in the meantime, I reading a South African mystery in German.

Back in Michigan for the Summer

Husband, dog and I arrived safely back in my hometown Saturday, after experiencing:

a freeway closed because of dust storms

lots of rain,

two roads closed because of damaged bridges, and

many, very long construction zones.
