Welcome to my first venture into the world of blogging. I live part of the year in Arizona and the other part in Michigan, so I hope to share observations about both regions.

With the crazy heat wave in Michigan – we thought we’d show how Suzanne spent the end of her summer – as “The Antiquated Airplane Retrieval System of Six Mile Lake.”

Thanks to Cala James at The Petoskey News for this interview!

Many thanks to my hometown of East Jordan, Michigan. As a vendor at the Portside Arts Fair, I had the best day I’ve every had at a fair, festival or famers market. It was fun to share my new book with so many friendly people.

During the Highland Festival in Alma, Michigan, Suzanne Malpass Rogers will be signing her books at the College Corner, 328 W. Superior from 1 pm to 4 pm on Saturday, May 27, 2017.

Writing children’s books has become Rogers’ very unexpected retirement career. She writes a series of true animal stories with happy endings under her maiden name, Suzanne M. Malpass. Each book is illustrated by Trish Morgan, a wonderful Charlevoix watercolor artist. Books are available on Rogers’ website straddlebooks.com, in many stores in Michigan and Arizona, as well as on mascotbooks.com, barnesandnoble.com and amazon.com. The One-Week-Old Fawn: A True Story is soon to be released.

The books are:

Stony’s Tale: A True Tombstone Story (sold out)

Rusty Tries Growing Up: A True Eastern Shore Story

A Lab’s Tale (takes place in East Jordan)

Colorado, the Flying Horse: A True Arizona Story

Where’s Our Siamese: A True Story (takes place in Charlevoix)

Bonita Finds a Forever Home: A True Story

The Cochise County Cat: A True Arizona Tale

The One-Week-Old Fawn is at the publisher’s. I’m just waiting to receive the electronic proof after I requested some changes. Next step will be when the editor puts the proof into the print queue. Good time to practice patience (at which I’m not particularly good). For enjoyment in the meantime, I reading a South African mystery in German.
